The Representation Beat Goes On.
Hello No Cap Fans!
It was another productive week for the mission of uncapping the house. Last Tuesday, we had our first grassroots leadership meeting. It was great getting to know everyone, and we are really excited to get these chapters up and running. We will be shipping marketing materials out in the coming weeks. If you are looking to join a chapter, be sure to visit our website to see if there is one near you. If there isn’t, click on the volunteer link and sign up to start one!
Also, on Tuesday, we released our first educational video produced by Mr. Beat. The video has been viewed over 5,000 times, with over 400 likes and over 70 mostly positive comments. We have also gained over 60 new subscribers on YouTube. A big thank you to everyone who has shared the video and subscribed. Keep sharing, and let’s see if we can’t get to 10,000 views by next week.
Over the weekend, Walter, Roger, and I were at the Principle’s First conference in National Harbor. We had a great time speaking with journalists, former politicians, other political nerds, and everyday citizens on the importance of uncapping the house. Some of the most common questions were, where would all the new reps go, and why aren’t more people talking about this!? The answer to the first question is easy; they can fit in the current Capitol with some reengineering. Danielle Allen wrote about it in the Washington Post some time back. Check it out here. As to the second, we aren’t sure either, but we are dedicated to making it happen.
Since this time last week, we have had 47 new signers to the Declaration of Representation. Help us keep it going by asking a friend to sign this week. Thank you again to all the volunteers and supporters out there helping spread the word about Uncapping the House.
Peace, Love, and Representation,
Jeff Mayhugh
